Arrival Day / Welcome Reception

​

  • 12:00 pm to 5:30 pm arrival and event check in at Fort DeRussy Army Museum

  • 5:00 pm to 5:00 pm Reception/Vietnam War seminar at the Hale Koa Hotel, Garden Lanai - reception to include and light snacks/refreshments and a cash bar

  • 8:00 pm return to the hotel in Waikiki

Hawaii Night/Tastes of Hawaii


Waikiki Shell

  • 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Hawaii Night - Vietnam Veterans and their guests will have an opportunity to sample ethnic and cultural foods in booths

  • Local entertainers will be invited to provide the entertainment and music for all to enjoy

  • Governor of Hawaii will be invited to offer a Welcome Home message and the Mayor of Honolulu to present a symbolic Key to the City to the Veterans

  • Tony Orlando Concert with Gordon Frietas

  • Return to the hotel

POW/MIA/MOH Dinner


Pacific Aviation Museum

 

 

  • 4:00 pm Depart for Ford Island and the Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor

  • 5:30 pm Dinner provided for Vietnam Vets.  This event is in honor of all POW/MIA, Gold-Star Families, and Medal of Honor recipients. The evening will include dinner, speakers, and entertainment

  • Return to the hotel

Ride the Thunder Movie Night


Waikiki Beach

 

  • 5:00 pm Transfer to Waikiki Beach to view the true Vietnam War story about the destruction of the bridge at Dong Ha in 1972.  This will be held at the Waikiki Beach Outdoor Stage (6-9pm)

  • 9:00 pm Return to the hotel

Vietnam 50 Years Memorial Parade


Fort DeRussy / Kalakaua Avenue / Kapiolani Park

 

 

  • 4:00 pm Gather at Fort DeRussy Park for the opening ceremony 

  • 4:30 pm Opening ceremony featuring guest speakers, the Marine Forces Pacific Band, along with marching bands and other parade entries from the mainland

  • 6:00 pm Parade steps off on Kalakaua Avenue, and continues to Kapiolani Park 

  • 7:30 pm Parade concludes 

  • 8:30 pm Return to the hotel

Memorial Service


National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific

 

 

  • 7:00 am Depart for The National Cemetery of the Pacific

  • 8:30 am Memorial Service begins.  This service is dedicated to the living, the deceased, and Missing in Action of the Vietnam /South East Asia War.  Distinguished keynote speakers will be invited to attend

  • Missing Man Fly over followed by the 21 gun memorial salute, full military honors!

  • Depart for home
